Federal Policy Update:
The Family Equality Council works at all levels of government to advance full social and legal equality for LGBT families by ensuring that they are included in legislation, policies and practices impacting families. Parenting protections, repeal of the so-called Defense of Marriage Act, health insurance reform, immigration reform, safe schools, and workplace equality are just a handful of the many issues Family Equality Council is currently working on at the federal level. LGBT AMERICANS OUTRAGED AT DELAY IN BASIC JOB RIGHTS
As we alerted you earlier this fall, a House committee vote on the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), was originally scheduled for Wednesday, November 18, but was canceled. The vote on ENDA now hangs in the balance! Executive Director Jennifer Chrisler has joined colleagues in calling for Congress to pass ENDA immediately. Click here to read the national press release.
